Teachable.

The memoir of our Founder's journey to starting The White Shadow Foundation

What started as a filmmaking project soon became a life-changing mission. In 2016, our Founder Andrew Douglas travelled to LA to document the dark realities of the porn industry and its deep ties to child abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The stories uncovered were impossible to ignore. Survivors shared heartbreaking experiences, exposing the industry’s hidden truths and the systemic failures that allowed exploitation to thrive.

After returning home, he realised this issue was bigger than just a film, it was a call to action. The weight of these stories, combined with his own lived experiences, made it clear that more needed to be done. But the journey wasn’t easy. At first, there was hesitation. Stepping into advocacy meant confronting personal trauma and navigating an emotionally challenging path. However, the urgency to speak up for those who had been silenced was stronger than the fear of facing the past.
